Gears and equipment racks use rotation to transmit torque, alter speeds, 
and modify directions. Gears can be found in many different forms. Spur gears are simple, straight-toothed gears that operate parallel to the axis of rotation. Helical gears have angled teeth that steadily engage matching tooth for smooth, quiet procedure. Bevel and miter gears are conical gears that operate at a right angle and transfer movement between perpendicular shafts. Alter gears maintain a specific input speed and allow different result speeds. Gears are often paired with gear racks, which are linear, toothed bars found in rack and pinion systems. The gear rotates to operate a vehicle the rack’s linear movement. Gear racks provide more feedback than other steering mechanisms.
